Urban Fox finally gets her Black Type in the Prestige at Goodwood!

Having finished a close fourth in Listed and Group 3 races on her last two starts, Urban Fox finally went one better when finishing a creditable third in the Group 3 Prestige Stakes at Goodwood on Saturday.

The daughter of Foxwedge was picked up for a bargain price of just 10,000 guineas in Book 3 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale last year and she made a perfect start to her career winning both her first Novice races at Yarmouth and Kempton picking up £20,000 in Plus Ten bonuses in doing so.

She then ran two great races when being beaten less than two lengths and finishing fourth in both the Listed Star stakes at Sandown and the Group 3 Sweet Solera at Newmarket.  However, on Saturday she finally got her Black Type with a third place finish just a nose ahead of the favourite Rich Legacy!

Martin Harley positioned the filly towards the rear early but she stayed on well to grab third in a close finish.  Out of the Nashwan mare, Lomapamar, she should stay further and improve with age so looks an exciting filly for next year.
