Gold Sands secures place at Stud in Hannover Listed raid!

Gold Sands’ Black Type raid to Germany proved successful as she finished a creditable second to the French-trained Godolphin filly Pabouche in the one mile Listed Grosser Preis der Metallbau Burckhardt in Hannover.

Having previously finished fourth in a Newbury Listed last year, a first three finish was the aim and Martin Harley briefly looked to have the contest in safekeeping until Godolphin’s Pabouche, a Dubawi filly out of the Group 3 winner High Heeled, managed to get herself out of a pocket on the stands rail before getting the better of Saeed Manana’s filly.

A huge daughter of Cape Cross, Gold Sands is out of the Group 3 Nell Gwyn winner Lil’s Jessy and her pedigree has improved recently courtesy of her two Galileo sisters, Paris Winds, who is a Listed winner herself and Absolute Lady who is now the dam of the unbeaten Le Havre filly, La Cressonniere, who has won both the French Guineas and Oaks this year.  After this Listed second, a place at stud now beckons…
