Via Via returns from the sidelines and takes us past the half million mark!
Via Via completed his recovery from serious injury when taking Newmarket’s last race of 2016 in good style and in the process took the yard’s British Prize Money total past the half million mark for the first time.
Via Via had looked a promising 2yo when with Clive Brittain back in 2014 before injury struck. He returned for James at Newmarket last month after a 810 day absence to run a very encouraging third place after which this race was targeted. Positioned towards the rear early, the son of Lope De Vega made smooth headway on the outside under Martin Harley before running out a comfortable winner. Sound after the race, big things are expected of him if all stays well.
Via Via’s win also took the yard’s British Prize Money total past the half million mark for the first time in addition to foreign prize money won in Ireland and Germany. It has been a great year for the stable.
