Invincible storms back to form in Cammidge rout!
Invincible Army erased the memories of two below-par efforts last summer when routing the field in the Listed Cammidge Trophy at Doncaster on the first day of the 2019 Flat Turf season.
Always tracking the leaders under P J McDonald, Saeed Manana’s homebred son of Invincible Spirit was always travelling best and stormed to the front two furlongs out, never looking likely to be caught.
Having started the 2018 season with an easy win in the Group 3 Pavillion Stakes at Ascot (beating subsequent Commonwealth Cup winner Eqtidaar) and then just going down by a nose in the Group 2 Sandy Lane at Haydock (to subsequent Champion Sprint winner Sands Of Mali), he put up two disappointing efforts on fast ground in the summer.
However, after a long break and a lot of hard work from the team at Jamesfield Place, he returned at Doncaster back to his best and was far too good for the opposition.
Next on his agenda, the Group 2 Duke of York Stakes before possible bids for the Group 1 Haydock Park Sprint and Group 1 Champions Sprint at Ascot.
